Under the motto "My journey by bus and train to the circus", all primary school children in Upper Austria were once again invited to take part in the public transport painting competition organised by Klimabündnis OÖ, ÖBB and OÖ Verkehrsverbund. 67 classes from 34 schools accepted the invitation, gave free rein to their imagination and the children creatively and colourfully put on paper how they imagined their train and/or bus journey to the circus. The three individual winners and the winning class were honoured at the award ceremony last Friday, 6 June 2025, at Linz train station.
The many positive responses from the schools show how enthusiastically the children realised the assignment and how enthusiastic they were about the idea of "travelling to the circus by bus and train". "One boy in particular, who always needs a lot of motivation in art lessons, was so enthusiastic and into drawing that he asked to be allowed to stay at school until he was finished and happy with his drawing," reports one teacher.
1,300 drawings were submitted and pre-selected by the project partners. In a final round, it was then up to a children's jury to choose the winning pictures.

- 3rd place: Alina from VS 4 in Wels, Handel-Mazzetti-Straße 2, 4600 Wels
- Class prize: 4b from VS 3 Ried im Innkreis, Maria-Montessori-Weg 1, 4910 Ried im Innkreis
The winning pictures will be displayed as posters on ÖBB regional trains and printed as a motif on an OÖVV regional bus. The 1st place winner in the individual competition can also look forward to a train journey for the whole family to Vienna with an overnight stay in a hotel and admission to Schönbrunn Zoo, while the winning class will receive a school trip to Upper Austria with admission to a leisure centre. As a thank you for taking part, each school received a tree sponsored by bellaflora for the school garden.
