You can obtain all ticket categories of the KlimaTicket OÖ quickly and conveniently in the online ticket shop or in person at the OÖVV customer centre.

The KlimaTicket OÖ is always valid from the first of the month.

Depending on the ticket category, the KlimaTicket OÖ is valid in the entire Upper Austrian transport network area (KlimaTicket OÖ Gesamt), in the entire Upper Austrian transport network area except for the cities of Linz, Wels and Steyr (KlimaTicket OÖ Regional) or in the entire Upper Austrian transport network area and a selected core zone (KlimaTicket OÖ Regional + core zone Linz, Wels or Steyr).

As part of the cooperation with the Salzburg Transport Association, all variants of the KlimaTicket OÖ are also recognised on the following SVV lines/routes:

As with all other OÖVV tickets, you can also use the KlimaTicket OÖ Regional to travel on regional or long-distance transport (bus and train) as far as the core zones (e.g. to Linz, Wels or Steyr main stations). However, if the respective core zone is excluded from your ticket, you cannot continue your journey on the lines of the municipal transport companies (e.g. Linz AG Linien, Wels Linien or Stadtbetriebe Steyr).

Of course, you can also start your journey with regional or long-distance transport within the core zones of Linz, Wels and Steyr - e.g. for a journey from Linz main station to Gmunden, Hinterstoder or Vöcklabruck.

During the period of validity, a KlimaTicket OÖ can be cancelled without giving reasons from the seventh month of validity onwards. For the cancellation to be effective, the ticket must be returned to a service point with proof of purchase. A cancellation fee of one month's amount will be charged; this is one twelfth of the purchase price. In the case of SEPA direct debit, the cancellation fee will still be debited. In the case of a one-off payment, the monthly amounts for each month of validity not yet commenced will be transferred, minus the cancellation fee. 

For certain reasons, the ticket can be cancelled during the period of validity without a cancellation fee. The KlimaTicket OÖ must be returned to a service centre within four weeks of the reason for cancellation arising. This is the case 

• when moving to another federal state or abroad, with proof of the new address
• when switching to a higher-priced KlimaTicket OÖ or to the KlimaTicket Ö
• in the event of illness for a period of three months or more, with proof by means of a medical certificate
• in the event of unemployment, with proof of unemployment confirmation
• in the event of death.

Due to our new ticket shop, the following applies: 

• If you have a KlimaTicket OÖ whose expiry date is BEFORE 31 July 2026, your ticket will not be automatically extended. The ordering process is quick and easy in the OÖVV Ticket-App and in the OÖVV ticket shop. You will be informed of this in good time. 
   
• If you have a KlimaTicket OÖ whose expiry date is AFTER 31 July 2026 , your ticket will be automatically extended. You will be informed of this in good time.

Yes, children up to the age of 15 (up to the day before their 15th birthday) can travel free of charge with parents who have a KlimaTicket OÖ Gesamt. Prerequisite: The children must be registered in the proof of eligibility. Proof of eligibility is the Upper Austrian Family Card, which is also recognised as an app.

However, it is not possible to take other people with you free of charge. But have you heard of the Freizeit-Ticket OÖ? It is a one-day public transport ticket for the whole of Upper Austria, valid for several people and therefore a cost-effective way to get your fellow travellers excited about public transport.

With the KlimaTicket OÖ (all categories) and the KlimaTicket Ö, one large dog per ticket can travel free of charge on all public transport in Upper Austria (except long-distance rail transport).

Bicycle transport is not included in the KlimaTicket OÖ. You need a ticket for your bicycle to take it with you.

Please note the following conditions for transport:

Bus:

• It is not possible to transport bicycles on regional buses.
• If the folding bike or scooter can be stowed safely, or if the passenger can hold it between their legs or in their hand, the folding bike (folded) is considered hand luggage (under 25 kg) depending on its size.
• Hand luggage is always transported under the passenger's responsibility. The driver may refuse to carry hand luggage if there is not enough space on the bus for it to be transported properly.
• The transport regulations of the transport companies or those of the Motorised Transport Act always apply.

LINZ AG buses and trams:

Folding bicycles and (e-)scooters, Segways, electric scooters (electric scooters), shopping trolleys and other oversized objects that could pose a potential hazard to operations and passengers may not be taken on board. Details can be found on the Linz AG website.

Yes, the purchase of transport bikes with or without an electric drive is supported with a mobility bonus of 1,000 euros. Folding bikes with or without an electric drive can be subsidised with 600 euros.

The prerequisite is possession of an annual ticket for public transport - such as the KlimaTicket OÖ.

Employers can provide employees with tax-free weekly, monthly or annual tickets for public transport as a job ticket.

The KlimaTicket OÖ is also valid as a job ticket. Employees can order this themselves and submit the invoice to their employer.

Yes, you can switch from your KlimaTicket OÖ to the KlimaTicket Ö. To do this, your KlimaTicket OÖ will be cancelled and a new KlimaTicket Ö will be issued for you.
