The European Mobility Week will take place from 16 to 22 September 2025. This week aims to raise awareness of environmentally friendly mobility options and promote changes in behaviour. Various activities are being organised throughout Upper Austria to inform the population about alternative, environmentally friendly transport options and invite them to try them out. As a long-standing partner of the European initiative, the Upper Austrian Transport Association and its partner municipalities are once again offering free travel on all city and town buses (excluding Linz, Steyr and Wels) during this week.
Every year, European Mobility Week provides a platform for raising awareness of the importance of sustainable mobility, trying out innovative measures and actively involving people and motivating them to participate. This year's motto "Mobility for all" emphasises that all people should have the opportunity to fulfil their mobility needs and thus actively participate in social life - regardless of physical, psychological, financial and spatial conditions.
OÖVV free rides during the mobility week
Many cities, municipalities and regions in Upper Austria are also organising campaigns during this week, with the Upper Austrian Transport Association once again taking part in the initiative this year with its "Free rides on all OÖVV city and town buses" campaign, giving all people who otherwise rarely or never use public transport the opportunity to simply and easily hop on and try out the service. The campaign is organised in cooperation with the towns/municipalities of Braunau, Vöcklabruck, Attnang-Puchheim, Redlham, Regau, Traun, Bad Ischl, Gmunden, Ried im Innkreis and Thalheim bei Wels. The common goal is to make environmentally friendly mobility visible and to inspire even more people to use public transport.
