Up to 19 per cent more passengers than in the previous year: Stern & Hafferl Verkehr's local railways, including the Traunseetram, Linzer Lokalbahn, Atterseebahn and Vorchdorferbahn, once again recorded a significant increase in passenger numbers in 2023. The Traunseetram achieved the largest increase to almost 912,000 passengers.
The Atterseebahn, which allows holidaymakers and day tourists to discover the Salzkammergut in comfort and without traffic jams, recorded a similarly positive interim result. A total of 285,000 passengers in 2023 corresponds to an increase of 5 per cent compared to the previous year.
The Linzer Lokalbahn (LILO ), also operated by Stern & Hafferl, already set a new passenger record in 2022 with 2 million passengers. This was slightly surpassed again in 2023 with just under 2.1 million passengers, which corresponds to an increase of 3.3 per cent compared to 2022 and once again makes the local railway the leader in Upper Austria.
The Vorchdorferbahn reached the magical 200,000 passenger mark for the first time in 2023 with a total of 201,000 .
