With the completion and commissioning of two new bus stops, public transport in Prambachkirchen has been significantly upgraded. Thanks to the close cooperation between the municipality, road maintenance depot, Dachsberg secondary school and the Upper Austrian Transport Association, as well as funding from the state of Upper Austria, it was possible to make targeted investments in greater safety, comfort and modern passenger information.
"Safe and modern stops are an important contribution to attractive public transport. The project in Prambachkirchen shows how good cooperation between the province, municipality and local partners can result in concrete improvements for citizens," says Günther Steinkellner, Provincial Councillor for Infrastructure and Mobility.
"With the completion of the new bus stops in the main street of Prambachkirchen and at the Dachsberg grammar school, two long-awaited projects have finally been realised. Thanks to the generous funding from the state of Upper Austria and the excellent cooperation of all those involved, these projects have now been successfully realised," said a delighted Klaus Wimmer, Managing Director of OÖ Verkehrsverbund Gesellschaft.
"The new stops are a real benefit for our community. Our pupils in particular will benefit from greater safety and comfort on their daily journey. I am delighted that we were able to realise this project so successfully thanks to the great cooperation with all those involved. Such projects show what is possible when we pull together - for an even more liveable Prambachkirchen," said the Mayor of Prambachkirchen, Herbert Holzinger.
New bus stop on Hauptstraße
The previous bus stop on Hauptstraße was relocated to a new, more conveniently situated location as part of the new SPAR building. SPAR AG provided the land and constructed the foundations, base plate and the adjacent pavement. The bus stop itself was financed by the municipality of Prambachkirchen with support from the province of Upper Austria.
With this new location, passengers in Prambachkirchen will not only benefit from more space and increased safety in future, but also from a comfortable waiting area equipped with up-to-date OÖVV passenger information.
New bus stop at Dachsberg grammar school
The Dachsberg grammar school is attended by around 900 pupils, which meant that the existing bus stop had reached its capacity limits. During the summer holidays, the bus stop was extensively adapted by the Eferding road maintenance depot and the municipality's building yard: The driving areas were extended to accommodate up to five buses at the same time. The pavements and lighting were modernised and the access and exit situation significantly improved. The bus shelter was realised as part of a school project: Gabriel Luger 's model won the design competition organised by Dachsberg grammar school and was implemented by Pointinger Bau GmbH.
The new bus stop at Dachsberg grammar school not only provides more safety and comfort for the pupils' daily journey to school, but also impresses with its attractive appearance.
