The comprehensive improvements on the OÖVV regional bus route 625 are already having a clear effect just a few weeks after the introduction: in the first six weeks after the changeover, around 25% more passengers used the route than in the same period last year. This means that around 6,000 passengers used the OÖVV regional bus route 625 during this period.
The OÖVV regional bus route 625 started in mid-December with extensive innovations. Since 15 December 2025, line 625 has been running every half hour between Dörnbach-Hitzing railway station and Traun city cemetery on weekdays from Monday to Friday between 06:00 and 19:00. The targeted streamlining of the route has made significantly shorter journey times possible. The newly built central stop at Pasching Dörnbacher Straße has contributed to this. The weekend service has also been extended.
"25% more passengers compared to the previous year impressively confirms that attractive improvements in public transport are immediately accepted. The strong growth in passenger numbers on route 625 shows that we are on the right track with longer operating times, more frequent services and more attractive journey times overall," says Günther Steinkellner, Provincial Councillor for Mobility and Infrastructure.
Klaus Wimmer, Managing Director of OÖ Verkehrsverbund Gesellschaft adds: "We are very pleased with the clear increase in demand. It shows that targeted service improvements are having an impact on people's everyday lives. Line 625 is a good example of how modern mobility works when convenience, good accessibility and reliable journey times come together."
Markus Hofko, Mayor of Pasching, is also pleased: "The innovations implemented on the OÖVV regional bus route 625 in December 2025 have quickly shown positive effects and the feedback from the population shows that we are on the right track with the improvements."
