As part of the upgrade programme, all 23 TALENT-1 trainsets in Upper Austria were brought up to Cityjet standard. In addition, all 17 Desiro 5022 sets were modernised.
The innovations include improved comfort and safety features as well as increased functionality. Multifunctional multi-purpose areas offer sufficient space for wheelchairs, bicycles and pushchairs. Barrier-free WCs are of course also available. The TALENT-1 coaches now have WLAN for the Railnet Regio portal and a modern passenger information system. Thanks to the modern interior and exterior design in OÖVV/ÖBB co-branding, the trains are now easily recognisable as ÖBB Cityjet.
