The Innviertel offers a special hiking experience with the Genusspilgern, part of the European pilgrimage route Via Nova: gentle hills, fields, small forests and farms combine nature, culture and culinary highlights. Along the way, refreshment stops, farm shops and direct marketers invite you to savour regional delicacies.
Individual stages can also be experienced as a day trip thanks to the excellent public transport connections with bus stops directly along the route. At the end of the day's hiking, the return journey ensures comfort and relaxation - without any stress and in an environmentally friendly way.
Stage for day trips by public transport
The stage from Aspach (bus stop "Aspach im Innkreis Pendlerparkplatz")to Maria Schmolln (bus stop "Maria Schmolln Ortsmitte") is particularly recommended for a hiking excursion by public transport.
The start in Aspach can be ideally combined with a visit to the Daringer Art Museum and the Daringer Life Trail - a tour through the village that brings the artworks of sculptor Hans Daringer to life. Once you reach your destination, the Maria Schmolln pilgrimage church with its monastery garden and impressive panoramic views of the Innviertel await hikers. The rose garden and herb garden also invite you to relax at the end of the excursion.
The start and finish of the stage are connected by the regional bus routes 876 and 862 with a change in St. Johann am Walde.
On top: both the start and finish points offer attractive excursion destinations:
- DARINGER Art Museum Aspach & Art Trail - 12 stations
- Maria Schmolln pilgrimage church with monastery garden and monastery shop
