Take the regional bus to the "Puchenau Ost" stop. From there it is only a short walk to the start of the Way of the Cross.
The route is well marked and ascends around 200 metres in altitude in the forest along fourteen Stations of the Cross. Once you reach the "Donaublick", it is worth leaving the path briefly to the left and enjoying the view of Puchenau and the Danube. You then follow the meadow path and soon find the Freiseder inn, which is a great place to stop for a bite to eat.
Finally, the path leads towards Pöstlingberg and the pilgrimage basilica. There you will find various places to stop for refreshments, the famous viewing platform with a view of Linz and, especially for children, the grotto railway with the fairytale world below.
