Schärding is always worth a trip by public transport. The town on the Inn river is easily accessible by public transport. The public transport journey is also ideal for one of the numerous hiking and pilgrimage tra ils in and around Schärding.
The special thing about these hiking routes is that they are all designed as circular routes starting from Schärding. The Marienthalweg promises a very beautiful view of the town. Marienthalweg. The starting point for this 13-kilometre hike is the boat landing stage, which can be reached in around 20 minutes from the Schärding train station via Bahnhofsweg, Bahnhofstraße and the town square through the water gate. The circular route is well marked and leads Inn downhill to the mouth of the river Pram and along the Pramtal cycle path R21 to the Otterbacher bridge. The route continues along forest and meadow paths up to the "Stoaneren Bankerl". There you can enjoy a wonderful view of the baroque town of Schärding. The route leads through the signposted forest path to Marienthal and finally along the Pramtalradweg R21 cycle path back to the starting point.
