The KlimaTicket Upper Austria allows free use of all public transport in the entire area covered by the Upper Austrian Transport Association. However, if passengers wish to travel beyond this network area, for example to Vienna or Salzburg, they require an additional ticket for the section of the journey outside Upper Austria. The decisive factor here is always the last scheduled stop within the OÖVV network area - up to this point the journey is fully covered by the KlimaTicket OÖ, from this stop for the journey outside the network area a separate ticket must be purchased.
| The OÖVV ticket shop offers a particularly simple and secure solution for this. The KlimaTicket OÖ can be stored there as a discount product. As soon as this is done, the ticket shop automatically recognises which parts of the selected connection are covered by the KlimaTicket and at which point an additional purchase is required. The shop automatically determines the last stop in the network, calculates the correct fare for the additional route and issues the appropriate ticket. This eliminates the need for passengers to find out the network boundary or the last stop in the OÖVV area themselves and they can be sure of receiving the correct ticket at all times. For a journey from Upper Austria to another federal state, only the section of the route that is no longer covered by the KlimaTicket OÖ is calculated in the ticket shop after entering the desired connection.
