Bus transport
You can buy your ticket directly from the staff on all OÖVV regional buses. This applies in particular to single tickets, day tickets, OÖ leisure tickets, weekly tickets and monthly tickets. Please note that not every bus is equipped with a cash machine.
Train
ÖBB
Long-distance transport e.g.e.g. Railjet, Intercity, EuroCity
If you did not have the opportunity to purchase a ticket before travelling, you can buy it directly from the train attendant. It is important that you visit the staff immediately after boarding and report the ticket purchase. Please note that tickets purchased on the train are subject to an on-board fare that may be higher than the regular fare.
Local transport e.g.e.g. REX, S-Bahn
On these trains, boarding is generally only permitted with a valid ticket. Exceptions apply if the ticket machine at the station is defective or there is no machine available. In such cases, you can purchase the ticket on the train, but you must either contact the train attendant immediately after boarding or use the ticket machine on the train.
Westbahn
On WESTbahn trains, tickets can be purchased directly from the train crew. For all connections between Vöcklabruck and Linz, single tickets are sold at the WESTflex price of the WESTbahn, reduced single tickets of the OÖVV and season tickets (daily, weekly and monthly tickets) of the OÖVV. On the train you can also buy tickets for routes in the OÖVV that go beyond the WESTbahn offer.
Vorchdorf railway: Vorchdorf-Eggenberg - Lambach
On the Vorchdorferbahn - the local railway between Vorchdorf-Eggenberg and Lambach, operated by Stern & Hafferl Verkehr - you can buy your ticket directly on the train from the train crew. Please note that you can usually only pay in cash.
Attersee railway: Vöcklamarkt - Attersee
On the Atterseebahn - the local railway between Vöcklamarkt and Attersee, operated by Stern & Hafferl Verkehr - you can buy your ticket directly on the train. The modern Tramlink trains are equipped with ticket vending machines that allow you to purchase tickets during the journey. These machines offer user interfaces in several languages, including German and English, and accept cash as well as ATM and credit cards.
Traunseetram (Gmunden - Engelhof - Vorchdorf)
Ticket machine
On the Traunseetram - the tram in Gmunden and local railway between Engelhof and Vorchdorf, operated by Stern & Hafferl Verkehr - you can buy your ticket directly on the train. The modern Tramlink trains are equipped with ticket machines that allow you to purchase tickets during the journey. These machines offer user interfaces in several languages, including German and English, and accept cash as well as ATM and credit cards.
